Repeat Infringer Policy

Version v0.1-draft · Last updated 2026-05-06

Consistent with 17 U.S.C. § 512, Ratlok terminates the accounts of users who are repeat copyright infringers in appropriate circumstances.

Strikes

Each valid DMCA notice that results in takedown of a creator's listing is recorded as a "strike" against that creator's account. Strikes are tracked over a rolling 12-month window.

Threshold

A creator who accrues three or more valid strikes within 12 months is considered a repeat infringer. Ratlok may suspend or terminate the account, withhold pending payouts pending resolution, and decline to onboard the same person under a new account.

Counter-notices

Strikes that result from a notice that is later withdrawn, successfully counter-noticed, or determined to be invalid are removed from the creator's record.

Appeals

A creator who believes a strike was issued in error may appeal to [email protected].
